For those who want to see how well (or otherwise) I can decode G2 files you can try it it you run win98 or newer.

3-april 2003,

I've had another look at the code after a break of 10 month or so. Found a major bug in the “BlackLevel” logic. Beta 1.0 had major problems in the deep shadows if the blacklevel was non-zero (as it is by default). Beta 1.1 should fix this.

It is not anywhere near finished, it is just my sand pit for trying out my ideas. Please don't bug me for explanations.
Just hit “auto” and give it the name of a G2 raw file. It takes a few minutes to decode and process an image on a 1Ghz machine.

If you want write an interpolator but not the decoder you can use my program to write a binary file of the decoded but otherwise raw image.
To do so use either the “auto” button or 'file/open'. When it is done use “file/savedecoded” to write a binary file.

This is a file of 16 bit words. This is 1720+8 lines of 2312+64 pixels.

The program is here.

Some G2 RAW files are here and here.- you may need to do the “save link as” thing.

My decoder can not decode eos-300d images but if you need a 300D raw sample for any reason there is one linked to this thumbnail. Warning it is 6 meg.

Have fun.
